I download patch v22 , i downloaded it and then i runned cs but it said couldnt find gfx.wad :S whats the problem? can any1 help me ?

@Charlie Lin: your welcome… Mac isn’t virus free, and most games don’t run on mac… I have a PC and a Mac, so believe me there’s nothing to regret…
@Matuu: gfx.wad??? *.wad files are texture packs, so the problem isn’t in patch, it’s probably some map that you downloaded from a server that is not configured as it should be…

@mobi: You can use sXe, but as you can see – some people have problems with it… You can also use VAC – it’s not so good to detect cheaters but at least it doesn’t have bugs. We have used sXe on our server, but it’s not ultimate protection, so if someone wants to cheat sXe will not stop him from doing that… So we have uninstalled sXe from server cause people complained that it doesn’t work on their computer, and that it doesn’t stop cheaters, so we have decided to use ultimate protection…

Just give admin status to people who are often on your server and have experience. Use AMX mod on server, and then install this:

It’s Admin Spectator ESP, so when admin goes to spectate he can se better than a cheater with wallhack. It’s easy to see who has AIM, but WH can be a pain in the ass… So with this mod you can see who has WH without any problem…

You didn’t read my instructions very well – ok – install v19, v21 or v27, and then if you hav invalid cd key message(you can read this at the bottom of the post) download hw.dll from: http://www.badongo.com/file/1845337
and replace your hw.dll in Valve directory with downloaded one…

okk theres the thing i have cs 1.6 running fine servers and bots fine ! but i want to create a server for jus me and my buddy to practise in together! hes too far for lan we want it over the internet! my dedicated server isnt working ! any ideas

There are two ways:
1) Buy a dedicated server (if you have money)
2) Create your dedicated server/normal server and tell your friend to connect to your IP. You can see your ip by going to http://www.whatsmyip.org
Your friend can connect by opening console in cs, and typing:
connect IP
(example: connect 192.168.0.1)
Note that this may not work if you’re behind a NAT server…

When you download hw.rar, unpack it – it contains hw.dll. Then copy hw.dll to your valve directory (not cstrike dir) and replace the existing hw.dll and that should be it…

And applied patch v27.. I can play on all server without any problem but have some problems
1) CANNOT SEE MY LOCATION UNDER RADAR.
2) WHERE CAN I FIND BOTS FOR THIS (already tried zbot,podbot,joebot)
3) GET LOWER PING
PLZ Help I have never played CS online.. want to play with its full features

ur rite, i didn’t download cs 1.6 from this link but i did use the v19 patch wich is the only patch that worked for me. The rest didn’t for some apparent reason.
P.S Only some servers i am able log into while most others say invalid cd-key.
(i downloaded invalid cd-key patch but it didnt work, its probably coz i didnt download the game from here

Hi. Im hoping you could help me admin.
Ok, ive downloaded v27 and all the servers are coming up fine. I went to join a server and it says invalid cd key. So i downloaded the invalid cd crack and replaced the old hw.dll file with the new downloaded one and tried again, and its still saying invalid cd key.
So, i thought it might be the version of the game i downloaded. So i downloaded one off here, loaded it etc yet still the same problem.
Have i done something wrong? When i downloaded the crack i saved it to another file and just replaced the old hw.dll file with the new one. There were other files that came with the crack though. Am i ment to replace all the files or just the hw.dll file?
Please help me.

@Unont2: you just need to replace hw.dll – try with patch v21, and then replace hw.dll.
@arian: patch it… Use one of the patches in the list – my favourite is v21 + hw.dll.
If the problem persist see if your internet connection is ok, also check firewall settings.

Hey admin.
I’ve installed v21 and replaced hw.dll yet still says invaild cd key. It works with some servers, but only with ones that are 300 ping up and i eventually get kicked lol. I’ve also tried v19, v27 and v28.
Im trying to play on the australian servers but they all come up invalid cd key. I’ve added the list of servers from gametracker.com but to no avail.
Can you help me please admin? Thanks.

Are you sure that those servers are non-steam? You can’t play on steam servers with non-steam counter strike…

ok admin im havin trouble joining a server this is the ping of that server and i have steam installed CS 1.6 version which isnt downloaded from here but works fine

i have done as u said i downloaded the patch v 21 and then installed it in my counter strike main folder
nxt i downloaded the crack file hw.dll but when i proceeded to find a file named hw.dll in my valve folder there was none.
i checked in main CS 1.6 folder and there it was
so i replaced it
then i tried the game through the .exe file of the patch and it worked fine just like before but the prob still continues and i cant join that ping server
That particular server is of V-Street..
nything else i can mention do ask without hesitation but pls help me out i wanna join V Street servers .. they give me good latencies

@Unont2: I know that almost all Serbian servers are non-steam, but since you’re not from Serbia I think you’ll have ping problems. Try KGB Alpha.
@Earl: That’s not ping, that’s IP adress… I’ve tried that server, and I was able to add it, but I have same error. Try contacting server administrator using their forum: http://www.v-street.net/forums

ok, i downloaded sxe injected and updated i have sp2 and required stuff but when i go on a server that needs sxe injected in cs 1.6 it wont work!! also i get kicked for high ping!

Check if you are using the same sXe version as the server… High ping is related to the quality of your internet connection, rather than sXe…

@DALER: you haven’t installed it propertly – patch needs to be insalled in your cs directory…
@Striderthat: sometimes the servers don’t work because they are steam servers, sometimes you just need to use a differnet patch. Most of servers I’ve tried work with v21. If you have problems just try a different patch and see what patch works for you the best… If you get invalid cd key error, reinstall the cs, then reinstall the patch you wish…

If you downloaded CS from here the bots are already there – just use bot_add command from console…
bot_add – auto add
bot_difficulty value – value is 0 – 4
bot_add_ct
bot_add_t
bot_kick
bot_kill
If you don’t have bots just download zbot – you can find links using Google:

Hi admin, i just downloaded the game and I couldn’t find an option to adjust the crosshair size……Also when i played in game with sxe-injected ….chat seems to be disabled….HELP!!

@Joey: i don’t quite understand you… Are you talking about counter strike source?
@climax: there is a cl_crosshair_size command, but if you haven’t used a path(just downloaded and installed cs and didn’t installed a patch) i think you can’t change the size.
So try with:
cl_crosshair_size medium
you can use small/medium/large/auto for size
If it doesn’t work try installing patch – I recommend v21.
Chat disabled? You mean you recieve #Cstrike_Chat_all message instead of real message – now I’m pretty sure you didn’t istalled a patch…

The setup is usually not in english (i don’t know why…
), but you just need to browse the path to your cstrike and that’s it!

@asddffggg: This happens when you don’t have sXe and you enter sXe server… If you try later to go on non-sXe server you will be kicked at the start of each round, so you must exit Counter Strike and run it again to join that non-sXe server…

@geek forever: When I wasn’t using patch I’ve had no rooms in a list, and I’ve added them. After installing the patch they’ve just appeared. If you already installed the patch check your firewall settings and/or router settings to see if they are blocking cs.

Svaki put prilikom pokretanja steam igre ona se konektuje na net da proveri kljuc i nastavlja dalje… I sta ce ti steam cstrike za botove? Pa steam se uzima samo da bi mogao da igras cstrike na steam serverima preko neta…

I downloaded cs 1.6 non-steam from a different website and installed the patch from there (it said v19) and it doesnt have bots.
Is there a patch here that will have bots on it or can u give me a link on how to
get bots?

hey admin you should add a link for the CS|RU update.
one thing though if you have used CSRU you would have noticed that on lan the ct’s are invulnerable (cant be killed). i fixed that it was a hitbox problem and if you want can upload the CS|RU with fixed models.
i am currently playing 1.6 non steam w/ v32.1 and CS|RU fixed and it rocks!

You need to replace the old hw.dll with that one, and if the cd-key error keeps showing up, then you won’t be able to play on that server(maybe you will but you will have to try all patches – one by one)…

I don’t think the invalid cd key problem will ever be solved. As you can see, we all use the same patch, which means same CD key and info. And if a Cd key is used more than once, then there will be a problem=]
So i suggest you find servers that are cracked and don’t do CD checks.
I have some servers if you’d like.

I’ve tried v26 now, and it’s running pretty stable, the only problem with v26 is that when you’re having net problems(cl_flush_entity) it seems to crash sometimes…

@cs prozzz: first of all – shut down all your programs that are using internet connection, especially torrent clients (if you use them). Second – adjust your rates, experiment with:
cl_cmdrate
cl_updaterate
rate
cl_rate
For example – with 256/256 kbps I’m using:
cl_updaterate 100
cl_cmdrate 100
rate 10000
cl_rate 9999
@people asking about steam patch: I’ve haven’t tried it yet sorry, but I suppose that you’ll be able to play on steam servers afterwards…

I AM MORE THAN A PRO AT CS AND WHEN I LOADED THE GAME TODAY ALL THE FUCKING SERVERS ARE FUCKING SOURCE SERVERS FUCK U VALVE I BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR FUCKING DAMN 12 HOURS.THIS IS WHAT I FUCKING HAVE :

I got the patch v21.
I also have CSS NonSteam but i uninstalled it because it did not work as it should be.It displayed the steam servers and if i join 1 i get “Banned” for some violation.I don’t know what the fuck is happening.After uninstalling CSS when i loaded cs 1.6 every single server which displayed way a CSS server i cannot join it too wtf.Before uninstallling CSS i think i had the same problem there were only 2 or 3 servers like CSS and CZ displayed in the servers section, i ignored them.
I uninstalled all the “Counter-Strike(s)”[also had cz,etc] except 1.6.
It still has the same CSS servers displayed.
Finally i decided to try it on a another computer but i get the still display WTF.
And for the last time, i downloaded a perfect,good condition torrent of DigitalZone, even that had the same problem.
I installed CSS and uninstalled it, now about 60% are 1.6 servers and the rest 30% are source servers.
And all the servers have some shit i cant even read what it is something like this:

In first place i cant connect to those servers.But im sure that those are NonSteam servers because VAC was not secure to all of them.
In CSS(NonSteam) which i downloaded a long time ago, it wasn’t even a NonSteam and i think that the steam files has been corrupt or something or why would it display some shit servers?.

Ok, never seen something like that before… Maybe the servers are updated – newest update is coming that will transfer CS from protocol 47 to 48, maybe the servers already done the update, but I don’t think so…
For now, all I can say is COMPLETELY remove cstrike, then install cs16full_v7.exe, and try pathing it with v26!!!

Znaci probao sam v6 i v7 s nekoliko razlicitih sajtova,onda samo probao patch v19.v21.v26.v27..
Na ni’jednom nije htelo da pronadje non steam servere kamo’li da nadjem non steam preko ip adrese :s

Hi, i have a slight problem when trying to join some servers, i seem to be getting a steam validation rejected error everytime i try to join a server. While on others it works but the ping is too high for me. Anyone have a solution to my problem?

i dowloaded cs non steam v32.1 from torrents…
there are no problems in lan play and there are no problems in online play…i can easily find the server list by refreshing…
….what i wanted to ask was how to create a server…there is a file named hlds.exe in the non steam folder but when i run it it gives an error ‘hlds has stopped working’….now i have read various tutorials on how you can dload hlds , update it , bla bla bla………but my question still remains will the people playing non steam cs1.6 will be able to join it(is there a difference between dedicated servers that run legit cs and non steam ones )???heavily confused…..a detailed explainaition is most welcome…i may be lame
